Everything you need to know before booking

To provide a smooth, professional and personalised performance, I kindly ask you to read the following information before booking. Good communication and preparation help ensure that everything runs beautifully on the day.

1. Booking & Deposit

When contacting me for a quote for your wedding or event, please provide as much information as possible, including:

• Date of the event

• Venue and location

• Number of guests

• How many hours you would like me to perform

• Type of performance — ceremony, guest arrival, cocktail hour, reception, proposal, engagement, show performance, dinner or another part of your celebration

• Your preferred music, if you already have specific songs in mind

I will be happy to provide access to my 550+ song playlist, where you can select your favourite music. If you're not sure which songs would work best for your event, I'm also happy to create a playlist for you, so you don't have to worry about choosing the music yourself.

Once all the initial details have been discussed and we have agreed on the booking, a 50% deposit is required to secure your date.

Once your booking is confirmed, we can discuss the remaining important details of your event, including music selections, timings, special requests and performance requirements.

2. Key Moments & Music Cues

For important moments such as the bridal entrance, signing, first dance, newlyweds’ exit or other special moments, the timing of the music is an important part of the experience.

I kindly ask that you arrange for one designated person — such as your celebrant, wedding or event coordinator, family member or trusted friend — to give me a simple signal when it is time to start or finish the music.

If you provide me with your schedule and music order, I will prepare everything according to your plans. However, wedding and event timings can sometimes change on the day. For example, you may decide to have the newlyweds’ exit earlier or later than written in the schedule. As I cannot know about these changes unless someone lets me know, having one designated person available to communicate these cues helps ensure that everything runs smoothly.

3. Music Selection & Special Requests

I have a repertoire of 550+ songs, from which you are welcome to choose music for your event or wedding.

If you would like me to prepare a song that is not currently in my repertoire, please be aware that this requires additional preparation time. Depending on the song, arranging the music, creating or preparing a backing track, and rehearsing the piece can take 1–3 hours or more.

In some cases, particularly with less common or rarely performed songs, suitable arrangements or backing tracks can be difficult to find. If an arrangement is not available, I may need to create or adapt the music myself, which can require significantly more preparation time.

For this reason, special song requests are best discussed well in advance of your event. I will always do my best to accommodate your music preferences and prepare something that works beautifully for your special occasion.

4. Performance Style

Please let me know what type of performance you would like:

• Wedding ceremony music — live violin music for the ceremony, including guest arrival, processional, signing, and recessional

• Live concert-style performance — where I am the main musical focus

• Background music — elegant live music that complements your event

This information is important for my preparation. If you would like certain pieces performed entirely from memory, this may require additional preparation and rehearsal time.

5. Arrival & Preparation

I normally arrive 30–60 minutes before the performance to allow enough time to:

• Set up my sound system and violin

• Complete a sound check

• Prepare my equipment and devices

• Change and prepare for the performance

This preparation time is important to ensure that I am fully ready to perform when your event begins.

6. Sound & Power Requirements

Please let me know in advance:

• Whether there is a suitable power outlet available at the performance area for my sound system

• If there is no access to electricity at the venue or performance area, please let me know in advance so I can prepare a suitable portable, battery-powered speaker

This allows me to bring the appropriate sound equipment for your event.

7. Dress & Appearance

I have a variety of performance dresses available, and you are welcome to choose a preferred color to complement the style and color scheme of your wedding or event, where possible.

8. Keeping Everything Organised

To make things easy and ensure no important details are missed, I recommend keeping our event communication in one place — such as email, WhatsApp or Instagram.

Having everything in one conversation makes it easier for both of us to review your plans, music selections and any updates as your event approaches.

9. Outdoor Performance & Weather

For outdoor performances, please ensure that I have a suitable covered area to perform in.

In case of rain, shelter is essential to protect both me and my violin and equipment.

If the weather is very sunny or hot, I will also need a suitable shaded or covered area for performances lasting more than 30 minutes. This helps protect my violin and equipment and allows me to perform comfortably throughout your event.

10. Cancellation & Date Changes

Once your booking is confirmed, a 50% deposit is required to secure your date. As I reserve your date especially for your event, the following arrangements apply if your plans change.

Cancellation:

• If you cancel within 3 calendar days of making the booking, your deposit will be fully refunded.

• After 3 calendar days, the 50% deposit is non-refundable.

Changing Your Event Date:
If your plans change and you need to move your event to a different date, I will be happy to transfer your booking at no additional cost, provided I am available on the new date.

If I am already booked on your requested new date, I may not be able to transfer the booking. In this situation, the original booking date and cancellation terms will apply.

I understand that plans can sometimes change, and I will always do my best to accommodate you where possible.
